Sunday Masses, Vespers, daily Masses as well as the Sacrament of Reconciliation and other religious services are regularly celebrated in the Basilica. A complete liturgical schedule may be obtained from the Office of Campus Ministry. The schedule is modified when the University is not in session.

Calendar of Events

The main University Calendar is the Agenda Events Calendar. This site normally includes information on academics, alumni related events, athletics, campus ministry, conferences, lectures, movies, student life, and the arts. The University's "News Line" is available by calling 631-5110.

Campus Ministry

Notre Dame's pastoral and sacramental programs, as well as liturgies in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart Church and in the residence halls, are open to all students, faculty and staff. The Office of Campus Ministry provides service in a number of different areas.

Classroom use is set by the University Registrar based on the needs of the professor, location of the instructor's department, type of classroom required (lecture, seminar, etc.), and to provide the best classroom use of space taking into consideration all classes taught during a given semester. Classrooms used for class meetings, outside of the normal meeting times must also be scheduled with the Office of the Registrar. Call 631-7043 or email at registrar.registrar.1@nd.edu


COBWeb

MCoB Web Group maintains an intranet site called>COBWeb that contains announcements, a calendar, news and links to helpful college and university  web resources. Many within the college have chosen to make the CoBWeB their home page when they open their browser.

Conference Calls

To set up a conference call/conference bridge, contact the Telecommunications Department at 631-2700. You must also fill out a Requisition to the Director of Purchasing form. The next step is to email the help desk with the information regarding the date and time of the call. They will then provide you with the numbers to call in to.

CorporateTime

Corporate Time is a real-time scheduling package. It allows users throughout the University community to schedule meetings with people or resources in the same building, different buildings, cities, countries, or time zones. Corporate Time provides tools for calendaring, group scheduling, resource scheduling and personal information management which allow individuals to manage their time and coordinate efforts.

Doermer Chapel

During the academic year, when classes are in session, daily mass is celebrated at 12:30 pm in the Doermer Chapel, located on the second floor of Mendoza next to the elevators.

Domer Dollars (top)

Money can be put into a "Domer Dollar" account, that can then be used at a variety of locations on campus by simply using your ID as a debit card. For a list of participating restaurants and shops, visit the above link. Deposits can be made online, by clicking here, or in the basement of South Dining Hall. They can also be mailed to:

Expense Reports

In order to be reimbursed for work-related expenses, you must fill out an expense report form (click link above for form.) It must include a description of the charges in the space provided on the left hand side. Sign it and have it signed by your supervisor. Submit signed form along with all related receipts and invoices, to Accounts Payable at 725 Grace Hall.

Facility Operations

To report a maintenance problem (plumbing, electrical, glass repair), or housekeeping issues, contact Tracey Plenzler at 631-7237. Contact maintenance to hang pictures; one cannot hang pictures oneself. Tracey also must be notified to take something in or out of storage. Maggie Neenan at 631-9102 in the Faculty Support Office, room 338 has master keys for the building (MBA handles own keys).


Faculty Support Center

The Mendoza College of Business Faculty Support Center is located in 338 MCoB. The Center's office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday during the school year. The hours vary slightly in the summer months. If you have any questions, you may contact Maggie Neenan, Supervisor of the Faculty Support Center, at 631-9102. Food - On Campus Eateries


General information regarding Notre Dame Food Services can be found by clicking the above link. On campus eateries are listed below and their respective web pages can be accessed by clicking on their names.

The Bookstore Cafe is located in the Hammes bookstore. The Bookstore Café offers Starbuck's coffee, tasty sandwiches, and desserts.

Butterfly Café is located in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. Stop for a coffee and a snack.

The Café Commons, offers soup, sandwiches, and other treats and is located on the lower level of the Mendoza College of Business, the sandwich bar is open until 2 p.m. the cafe is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Café de Grasta, located in Grace Hall near the east entrance to campus, is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Café de Grasta serves upscale meals, grilled to order, and gourmet coffee and pastries.

Café Poche is located on the first floor of Bond Hall and is open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is an architecture student's dream come true. Offering a unique menu and atmosphere that reflects the culture of this school, Café Poche features sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries, coffee, espresso, and many convenience items.

Decio Commons is located in the Decio Faculty Building and is open from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. It offers a salad bar, hot lunch specials, pastries, cappuccino, cold drinks, soups, and deli sandwiches.

Greenfields International Cafe, located in the Hesburgh Center for International Studies building, serves breakfast and gourmet lunches. Greenfields is open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Phone 631-8578 for information.

The Huddle Food Court is located in the LaFortune Student Center. The following restaurants can be found: Burger King, Sbarro, Subway, Buen Provecho and Starbucks. The Huddle Mart convenience store is also located in LaFortune.

Irish Café is located on the lower level of the Law School. Experience stimulating legal debate while enjoying a tasty sandwich and a cold drink. The Irish Café is open from 7:30 a.m. 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Legends is located south of Notre Dame Stadium. This is a casual sports theme restaurant where fans can gather, watch a game and enjoy food and drinks. Legends Restaurant is open to the public  Monday through Friday 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. and is closed on Sunday.  Legends Alehouse Pub is open to the public Monday through Wednesday 4 p.m- 12 a.m., Thursday and Friday 4 p.m.- 2 a.m., Saturday 11:30 a.m.- 2 a.m., and is also closed on Sunday.  Phone 631-2582 for more information.

Reckers, a destination cafe located at the south entrance of the South Dining Hall, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week during academic sessions and even a few hours during break. Reckers is home to the famous Reckers Burger and made-to-order sandwiches. Combine a wood-fired pizza with a Freshens Smoothie. For more information on Reckers and to view its menu, click on the above link.

Waddick's is a '50s-style café located in O'Shaughnessy Hall. Open from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., it provides the scholarly minded individual with a place to socialize, study, or have a snack. Enjoy home-style soups, sandwiches, fresh salads, yogurt, and beverages, as well as specialty coffees, in this nostalgic environment.

Warren Grille is located in the clubhouse of the Warren Golf Course. It offers soups, panini sandwiches, gourmet burgers, and even danish and breakfast sandwiches. Hours of operation are Sunday through Saturday 7a.m.- 7 p.m., and is closed until noon on Mondays. Call 631-4853 for more information.

Health Services

The University Health Center is located on the northern edge of campus, behind the Golden Dome and near Keenan and Stanford residence halls. The Health Center provides comprehensive treatment of illness and injuries to all currently enrolled students, eligible staff, and employees with work related injuries. Human Resources

The Human Resources Policy Manual has recently been rewritten to make it more easily understood and to clarify many of the existing policies. The manual may be viewed online by clicking here.

Identification Cards: The Office of Human Resources issues identification cards to members of the faculty and staff for identification purposes on campus. These cards are used for checking out library books, for discounts and for the bookstore.

Kaneb Center for Teaching & Learning

The Kaneb Center serves as a resource for faculty and teacher assistant's. The center offers individual consultation, workshops, and help for departments and other groups. The center is located in 353 DeBartolo, and is directed by Alex Hahn. You can call the Center at 631-9146, or visit the web site by clicking the above link.

Keys

Master keys are kept by Maggie Neenan, if you need building keys for your position your supervisor will indicate that on the Internal Information form that is filled out upon your employment, and let Maggie know. If you need access to a storage room, you will need to let Maggie know and she can arrange to let you in. She can be contacted at 631-9102. MBA handles their own keys.

Listservs

MCoB has 4 listservs that are used for announcements. Each listserv has a different audience and purpose. Information about these listservs can be found within the MCoB IT Knowledge Base.
There are also a number of lists for individual departments, to contact students, and different committees. For more information regarding these lists please go to the IT listsserv page. If you are not receiving announcements from the appropriate list, please contact the MCoB Help Desk at 1-7896 so we can assist you.

Lost & Found Offices

The University maintains a Lost-Found Office in the Campus Security Building, Room 117. The phone number is 631-5036. Lost and Found is available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Mail (top)

On campus there is Mail/Distribution Service twice daily to and from the Mail Distribution Center and academic buildings. The University zip code is 46556-xxxx (each building has a unique nine-digit zip code which should be used on all correspondence). The Zip +4 list is available in the campus phone directory. The University Mail Distribution Services are not to be used for corporate/political solicitations or non-campus activities.

Any outgoing mail should have the department and building in the return address, to ensure that the postage is charged properly by the University Mail Distribution Services.

ND Reports

The University publishes an online report monthly to highlight faculty member's recent achievements. Information regarding achievements should be submitted to Peggy Bolstetter. All faculty may submit information in the following categories:

1. Honors - composed of non-University appointments in one's field and outright honors. Information required for each honor submitted includes name, rank or title, department, honor, name of organization bestowing honor, city, state and date (if applicable).
2. Activities - must be of a professional and public nature and should be related to one's work at the University. Information required for each activity includes name, rank or title, department, title of presentation, title of conference or institution, city, state and date. No activities are printed ahead of the date and will not be reported on after six months from the activity date.
3. Publications - books, articles in journals, proceedings, as well as reviews. Information required for a publication in a book or journal includes: name, rank or title, department (for ND authors), title of article, name of journal (volume number, issue number, date) or name of book (author, place of publication, publisher, date), and page numbers. For a published or edited book - name, rank or title, department (for all Notre Dame authors), book title, place of publication, publisher, date, and total number of pages. Publications will not be reported six months past the publication date.

Orientation

New Mendoza hires must schedule an orientation session with Maria Weston in the Mendoza OIT. (631-7896).

All new exempt and non-exempt staff must undergo an orientation session provided by Human Resources.  Orientations are automatically scheduled once hired, and a confirmation e-mail of the time and date is sent to both the new employee, as well as their supervisor by the shared service coordinators.  These sessions run every Monday from 8:30 a.m.- 12 p.m.  Call 631-3937 if you have further questions.

Your first 90 days are considered the "Orientation Period." Information on this can be found at the Human Resources website by clicking the above link.

Parking

(top)

All employees must register their vehicles with the Parking Office if they plan to drive or park on University property. Parking for Mendoza is located in the "B" lot directly east of the building. Movement between lots on the central campus will not be allowed except by special permission. "A" decals are valid in both "A" and "B" lots. "B" decals are only valid in a "B" lot. If a lot is overcrowded, contact Security/Parking for information about where to park. Decals will be re-issued annually. "B" decals authorize parking on the central campus for one hour in non-reserved spaces for  conducting official business. "B" decals are also valid in the central campus lots weekdays after 5 p.m. and all day on weekends.

Procards

The ProCard program provides an efficient, cost-effective method of purchasing. To receive a ProCard, you must fill out the form and return it to the ProCard Administrator in 801 Grace Hall. For more information on ProCards, visit the above link, or call the ProCard Administrator at 631-6401.

The Director of Communications for MCoB is Mary Hamann. Her office is located in the Dean's Office at 204 Mendoza and she can be reached at 631-4652. Telephone Information

The University maintains a CENTREX telephone system for faculty, staff and administrative service with a 631 exchange number. The general (switchboard) number for the University is 631-5000; the area code is 574.

To call on-campus faculty or administrative offices dial 1, plus the four-digit number. For example, to call the Dean's Office (631-3759), dial "1-3759."  To dial off campus the prefix 8 is required to gain access to a local area line.

All domestic and international long-distance calls are made through the University's long-distance network that is detailed in the campus phone directory.

Termination of Employment

If someone is terminating employment, they must fill out a termination form, available in the Dean's Office. The failure to do so will result in additional benefit and payroll expenses being charged to the department.
