How do I send an email to all students in the course section I am teaching?

To use Online Class List with Photos to access your course Listserv list

  1. Log onto http://inside.nd.edu with your NetID and password
  2. Click on Academic tab
  3. Click Online Class List with Photos under the Faculty Services channel in the middle of the page
  4. Logon with your NetID and password
  5. You will see your current list of courses on the left side of the page
  6. Click on the link for the course to which you want to send an email
  7. Click on the Email Entire Class button just to the left of the Print button above the list of students
  8. Your message addressed to your course Listserv list will be opened in the default email client on your computer
    1. Ensure it has correctly opened the email client you regularly use
    2. If it opened in a client you don't use, simply copy the Listserv address and paste it into a new message you create in the email client you regularly use
  9. Compose and send your email
  10. You will receive a message in your Inbox saying that the message was successfully sent
  11. Add the Listserv list to your address book for future use without going through Online Class List with Photos
  12. You will need to do this for each section you teach, even if they are multiple sections of the same course

To use the automatically generated course Listserv list directly from your email client

  1. Open your mail client and enter ddddnnnnn-ss-ttyy@acadlist.nd.edu in the To: field
  2. Or go to http://learning.nd.edu/list/, follow the instructions, then copy the email address generated under the Email address heading
  3. Compose and send your email
  4. You will receive a message in your Inbox saying that the message was successfully sent
  5. Add the Listserv list to your address book
  6. You will need to do this for each section you teach, even if they are multiple sections of the same course
