Audit Analytics (WRDS)

Provides detailed audit information on over 1,200 accounting firms and 15,000 publicly registered companies. Know who is auditing whom and how much they are paying for what services. Create reports by auditor, fees, location, industry and much more.

Capital IQ

This database includes profiles and data on public and private companies, investment firms, capital transactions, and people. It can be used for complex financial statement analysis, comparables analysis, sector analysis, and charting. Screening capabilities are available.

China Data Online

Focuses on economic statistics of China, arranged by regions and categories. Includes monthly and yearly reports on China's macroeconomic development, statistical databases about China's population and economy at the provincial, county, and city level, and financial indicators of more than 568 industrial branches. Also includes statistical yearbooks, census data, industrial and marketing surveys, and an atlas of China.

Compact D/SEC

Provides business and financial information on public companies in the U.S. (domestic and foreign companies listed on national, regional and over-the-counter U.S. stock exchanges). Up to 15 years of annual and quarterly financial statement data from SEC filings as well as company-supplied Annual Reports to Shareholders and other publicly available reports. Discs for 1988-2001 are avaialble in the Mahaffey Business Library.

Cross-National Time-Series Data Archive

Contains important social and economic indicators. Access to database of over 250 countries, over 200 series and data beginning in the year 1815 and continuing to the present (year 2014). Usage info: Licensed for one simultaneous user.

Datastream

Provides international financial, economic, stock market and company data, including coverage of equities, stock market and bond indices, economic statistics, foreign exchange rates, interest rates, fixed income instruments and derivatives. DSWindows software allows data to be downloaded and exported and can be used to create graphics, reports and spreadsheets. Access this in the Mahaffey Business Library (any workstation) from the Business & Economics folder on the desktop.

Eurekahedge

Includes access to the Global Hedge Fund Database (130 data points for each of the 20,898 live hedge funds covered), the Global Fund of Hedge Funds Database, and the Private Equity Fund Database (information on 3,796 private equity funds, such as IRRs, investment multiples, fund terms, deals, exits, and service providers).

FactSet SharkRepellent

Provides takeover defense and corporate governance data. Assesses defensive characteristics of specific companies. Profiles more than 5,300 U.S. incorporated public companies from 1999 to the present. Access info: Click on "Login" button to enter database.

Global Financial Data

A collection of current and historical financial and economic data provided in ASCII or Excel format. Data includes: long-term indices on stock markets; total Return data on stocks, bonds, and bills; interest rates; exchange rates; inflation rates; bond indices; commodity indices and prices; consumer price indices; gross domestic product; individual stocks; sector indices; treasury bill yields; wholesale price indices; unemployment rates; and real estate data covering over 200 countries.

Insiders Data (Thomson Reuters) (via WRDS)

Captures all insider activity as reported on SEC forms 3, 4, 5, and 144. Corporate insiders are defined broadly to include those that have "access to non-public, material, insider information" and these insiders are required to file SEC form 3, 4, and 5 when they trade in their companies stock.

Institutional 13(f) Holdings - s34 (Thomson Reuters) (via WRDS)

Common stock holdings and transactions of institutional money managers where holdings of the managing company/filer√Ęs level are as per the 13F filing itself.

ISS (formerly RiskMetrics) (via WRDS)

Provides access to Governance (coverage from 1990) and Directors (coverage from 1996) data. Shareholder Proposals and Voting Results are not part of our subscription. Directors Data includes a range of variables related to individual board directors (e.g., name, age, tenure, gender, committee memberships, independence classification, primary employer and title, number of other public company boards serving on, shares owned, etc.). The current universe is the S&P 1500 companies, which has continued since 1996, although in earlier years the data was captured for a few hundred additional large-cap companies as well.

Mergent fixed income securities database (FISD) (via WRDS)

Contains issue details on over 140,000 corporate, corporate MTN (medium term note), supranational, U.S. Agency and U.S. Treasury debt securities and includes more than 550 data items such as Fitch, Moody's and S&P credit ratings and U.S. Treasury auction information. The entire collection is based upon two sources: the FISD Academic Database, provided by Mergent, Inc., and a record of bond transactions by insurance companies, also provided by Mergent.

MergerMetrics fixed price service

Focuses almost exclusively on the qualitative aspects of merger transactions. Provides analysis on the key aspects of merger agreements that are highly negotiated, including the deal protection mechanisms. Identify precedent transactions and view important language from within the merger agreement, as well as the related SEC documents used in the research of the transaction. Transactions included meet the following criteria- target company is incorporated in the US, target is publically traded, acquiror onws less than 50% of target at time of deal announcement, and acquiror seeks 100% of target's equity. Morningstar Direct

A multi-currency investment research tool. Evaluate and select investments, create and monitor portfolios and lineups, and conduct competitive analysis. Includes data on stocks, equity ownership, market indexes, funds (closed-end, exchange traded, hedge, money market, offshore, and open-end mutual), pension/life insurance, and 529 plans. Data from SBBI Yearbook available from this database. Available on select machines in the Mahaffey Business Library.

Morningstar Principia mutual funds advanced

Provides data on 10,000+ mutual funds, including historical data, an archive of analyst reviews and commentaries, and fund manager profiles. Data is from 08/31/02 to 4/8/14. Available on select machines in the Mahaffey Business Library.

MSCI ESG KLD Stats (via WRDS)

Annual data set of positive and negative environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance indicators applied to a universe of publicly traded companies. Data set was initiated in 1991. MSCI GMI Ratings is not part of our subscription.

Mutual Fund Holdings - (s12) (Thomson Reuters) (via WRDS)

Covers almost all historical domestic mutual funds plus about 3,000 global funds that hold a fraction of assets in stocks traded in U.S. exchanges as well Canadian stock markets. Contains virtually all U.S.-based mutual funds in existence since 1980. Primary source for the mutual fund holdings data is SEC N-30D filings. Use of this database is via Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS). Please contact the Mahaffey Business Library staff for more information.

National Center for Charitable Statistics data web

The majority of the data files warehoused at NCCS, and widely requested by the research community, are based on information collected annually by the IRS on registered nonprofits and nonprofits that file tax returns. NCCS has IRS Form 990, 1023 and 1024 data covering a period from 1989-2014, with limited data back to 1982. Access info: Click on "I accept the user agreement"

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)'s statistics. Use OECD.Stat to extract data from across datasets.

OptionMetrics (Ivy DB US) (via WRDS)

Source of historical price and implied volatility data for the US equity and index options markets. Contains historical prices of options and their associated underlying instruments, correctly calculated implied volatilities, and option sensitivities.

SimplyMap

A web-based mapping application. Create professional-quality thematic maps and reports using demographic, business, and marketing data for the U.S. MRI Consumer Survey data is included.

World DataBank

Provides access to World Development Indicators (WDI), the primary World Bank collection of development indicators compiled from officially-recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available, and includes national, regional and global estimates. Access to 59 other World Bank databases is included.

WRDS SEC Analytics Suite (via WRDS)

Allows searching of 3.5+ million text and html files for all 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and Proxy filings, 13D/G, 13F UPLOAD and CORRESP and CT ORDER. Includes any entity (95,000+) that reported to the SEC's EDGAR database since 1994. Develop tailored datasets parsing millions of regulatory reports based on custom criteria.
